Certificate in Indigenous Management Essentials

The Certificate in Indigenous Management Essentials (CIME) is a 3-level, 18-course training program that focuses on a combined partnership approach of Human Resources and Managers, learning how to navigate the ever-changing organizational landscape in harmony while keeping the focus on the unique challenges of First Nations organizations.

This program is for all levels of experience, focusing on building each participant's human resource knowledge and skills taken in our Certificate in Indigenous HR Essentials Program, and creating a pathway for managers to learn and connect with each employee on a Human Resources level.

CIME will offer participants a deep and expansive understanding of management and provide you with tools and strategies to apply in the workplace.

This program is delivered by an Indigenous facilitator or a facilitator with extensive experience working in Indigenous organizations.

The Certificate in Indigenous Management Essentials welcomes attendees with varied level of education backgrounds. There are no pre-requisites; attendees can enter the program at any time. Courses can be completed in any order at a schedule that complements participants’ professional environment. Participants can also select courses based on topics that align with their responsibilities.

A Certificate in Indigenous Management Essentials will be granted to participants at the completion of each Level (6 Courses completed). To be eligible one must have been present, either in person or online for the full session series of each individual course.

  2. Change Behaviour Through Positive Discipline (Level 1, Course 2): Effective communication is essential for guiding employees toward meeting expectations and fostering positive outcomes. In this course, we'll explore the power of clear communication in driving behaviour change. By adopting a positive discipline approach, we can transform challenges into collaborative opportunities to achieve desired results.
  3. Leadership Excellence: a Manager's Blueprint for Success (Level 1, Course 3)In today’s fast-paced business environment, effective leadership is crucial. Organizational success depends on strong leaders who meet modern employees' expectations to foster engagement. This course, "Effective Leadership: A Manager's Guide to Getting Results," equips managers with the skills to excel in leadership roles. We explore five key leadership values and how they build positive team relationships. By examining past and present practices, we ensure our organizations lead with confidence and vision.

Elevate Engagement: a Manager's Guide to Fostering Employee Commitment (Level 1, Course 5): Employee engagement is not merely a trendy term—it's a fundamental element in driving organizational success. Throughout this course, we'll delve into the significance of employee engagement and equip you with actionable strategies to elevate engagement levels within your organization. 
  6. Project Leadership: Mastering Program Planning and Execution (Level 1, Course 6): Project leadership is crucial in ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of programs within organizations. This workshop aims to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage projects and drive success. Drawing from project management principles and practices, participants will learn how to navigate program planning, execution, and stakeholder management to achieve desired outcomes.
